About Me
Floyd King is the owner of King Human Performance and serves as a Director of Sports Performance at a Division I university, where he oversees performance development for Baseball, Women’s Soccer, and Golf athletes. He specializes in building high-performance systems designed to develop speed, strength, durability, and long-term athletic potential in athletes.
King brings a diverse background across NCAA athletics, private-sector sports performance, and professional athlete development. His coaching philosophy is rooted in combining applied sports science with real-world performance demands, ensuring athletes are not only prepared for competition but also equipped to sustain success throughout their careers.
King served as a Sports Performance Graduate Assistant at Idaho State University, where he directed strength and conditioning for Men’s and Women’s Tennis and Cross Country while supporting all Olympic sports. During his time there, he contributed to the development of multiple All-Big Sky honorees, ITA Scholar-Athletes, and program record holders across indoor and outdoor seasons.
King began his coaching career at UW–Milwaukee, supporting Men’s and Women’s Basketball and Soccer. He then joined NX Level Sports Performance, where he assisted in the offseason preparation of elite NFL athletes, including All-Pros and a Defensive Player of the Year candidate. He later worked with Men’s Basketball, Women’s Volleyball, and Women’s Lacrosse at Marquette University, and completed a professional internship at the University of Minnesota, supporting NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Ice Hockey programs while contributing to the development of NHL, PWHL, and Olympic-level athletes.
Originally from the Oneida Nation Reservation in Wisconsin, King’s approach to coaching is deeply influenced by his upbringing and the barriers he witnessed surrounding access to high-quality athletic development. This perspective continues to drive his mission to make performance training more accessible, practical, and impactful for athletes from all backgrounds.
King is currently pursuing his Doctor of Education (EdD) in Exercise Physiology at Concordia University–St. Paul.
